About this course
This 3-hour course will equip learners with the necessary skills, knowledge and expertise on how to manage a casualty’s airway in the event of an emergency. The course is suitable for first aiders, prehospital care
providers and those working in high risk environments.
Syllabus
A range of subjects is covered including:
• The respiratory system
• Principles of airway management
• Airway examination and assessment
• The airway management ladder
• Practical training
Duration
A 3-hour course consisting of theory and practical work.
Numbers
A maximum of 16 students can be accommodated on this course.
Certification
Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual throughout the course and issue a non-regulated certificate of achievement where the required level of attainment has been met.
